ZOLALA KLUB

Zolala, lala

A truly magical event. I am super fortunate I was a part of it as a spectator and a performer. Held in an incredibly cosy and tight place always filled with amazing smells of fantastic food and thoughts. One thing you could expect was the unexpected. A mix consisting of a talk, performance, sounds and art. Defying the laws of physics: big things happened in a small space. Always filled with laughter, steam and sometimes scream.

Apple Bramley Tree

For one of my events I had magic wands in the form of cuttings, whose seeds came from the Mother of Bramley tree who now, being 200 years old is dying. These were donated by amazing Future Orchard Cork. Everyone upon entering received a questionnaire related to logic and a magic wand if they were interested in planting it. I hope one day I will find out somehow how many people were successful and I will have a chance to see the grown trees in one form or another. If you are one of these people, do contact me, please.

Save+the+bees.jpg

I was very lucky to come across Future Orchard Cork. What drew my attention were packets of seeds of wild flowers titled ‘Save the Bees. Ammunition for the Guerrilla Gardener’. This was the moment when I started dreaming more intensely about having my own garden and how I would love to have a patch of wild flowers at my doorstep and at the same time provide for bees. Putting this aside, I went to meet the lady behind the scenes in a really beautiful and pristine spot whose passion was contagious. Upon my arrival there was a hot beverage made of apples available as this was how they were greeting people who were also collecting their veg boxes (who were to come later on). When I said to her I would like to combine planting as a literal action and a metaphorical one through my art project (via performances and installations) she instantly connected and really wanted to help out as much as possible. There was so much kindness and generosity flowing from her even though it was obvious she was really busy and her hands were full. I felt how both of our projects connected thanks to plants and trees and how that could be passed on to others. I felt symbiosis. Also, it reminded me of the story I told about bumblebees and that experiment on how they teach each other during the Gab.
